The aim of Grounded Roots is to provide high quality oyster mushrooms and fresh herbs for the areas surrounding Galway City. We use "waste products" (coffee grounds & straw) from local businesses to produce oyster mushrooms in a sustainable way. After our mushroom substrate is spent, it is then mixed alongside other food waste to produce rich compost to be used to grow flavoursome herbs. The goal of Grounded Roots is to provide nutritious food with low food miles and promotion of a more circular economy.
