Le GROUPE ZITEX a pour vocation principale l'extraction des huiles de grignon d’olives, le raffinage d'huiles végétales, le conditionnement des huiles et la fabrication de savon. Outre ses capacités importantes de production et de stockage, Le GROUPE ZITEX a développé ses capacités de trading et devenu un des grands exportateurs d'huile d’olive du pays, surtout vers l'Europe et les Etats Unis.
Le GROUPE ZITEX représente un groupe de trois sociétés : SIOS ZITEX, constituée en 1927, est la société mère spécialisée dans le secteur de raffinage des huiles les activités d'extraction d'huile de grignon et de production du savon de ménage ont été délocalisées à la zone industrielle AGUAREB en constituant la société AGRO-ZITEX en 1997 avec un matériel plus sophistiqué tout en ajoutant une nouvelle chaîne de raffinage qui a augmenté la capacité de production du groupe. Pour compléter sa chaîne de valeur, le GROUPE ZITEX a implanté une nouvelle société en 2004 AFRICAIN OIL spécialisée dans le conditionnement des huiles alimentaires.
