GRUPO GÁMIZ began in a forest, steeped in natural wood, back in 1942. Throughout the years, innovation, technology, beauty and sustainability have transformed the humble dream of five brothers into the world’s leading manufacturer of hardwood glulam beams. We use local wood. We make most of our products with wood obtained within a radius of 400 km from our factory in Kanpezu (Álava, Spain). There we make primary and secondary processed products in European oak, beech, ash, American oak, iroko and radiata pine: ● Boards and planks ● Laminated scantlings ● Glulams ● Edge-glued panels ● Splinters and saw dust We are also official distributors in Spain of Accoya® acetylated wood®, with a written guarantee of more than fifty years. Sustainability and respect for the environment are priority goals for Grupo Gámiz. Our products have the major sustainability certificates: FSC® and PEFC. Along with the use of local wood, we promote the circular economy in our processes. In addition to providing a wide variety of manufacturers in the timber industry, our products are highly valued by architectural studios seeking to balance creativity, beauty and sustainability in their projects. For example, our product VIGAM, the only oak glulam beam in the world with the CE marking for structural use, is often used in significant international projects by renowned architects, such as Herzog & de Meuron, Norman Foster, Renzo Piano and Kengo Kuma.
