Consequently, MCCI assumed the role of local representative in the same year, leading to the birth of EAN Mauritius, now recognised as GS1 Mauritius. With member organisations spanning 116 countries, GS1 has been instrumental in formulating standards for over 2 million global companies, facilitating an astounding 6 billion transactions each day.
