GS1 Bulgaria

GS1 is a not-for-profit organization that develops and maintains global standards for business communication. GS1 has 115 local member organisations, over 1.5 million user companies and 6 billion transactions every day. GS1 is best known for the barcode, named by the BBC as one of “the 50 things that made the world economy”. GS1 standards improve the efficiency, safety and visibility of supply chains across physical and digital channels in 25 sectors. GS1 Bulgaria brings together over 3800 Bulgarian companies. We work with organisations of every size — from international household names to small, local businesses. GS1 standards form a business language that identifies, captures and shares key information about products, locations, assets and more. GS1 is dedicated to the design and implementation of global standards and solutions to improve the efficiency and visibility of supply and demand chains globally and across sectors. The GS1 system of standards is the most widely used supply chain standards system in the world. Our mission is to be the neutral leader enabling communities to develop and implement global standards providing the tools, trust and confidence needed to achieve our vision. GS1 Bulgaria offers different services to its members including product photography and 360 grade images. Moreover, in the GS1 Bulgaria Lab it is possible to test quality of the barcodes printed. GS1 Bulgaria also manages online product catalogue BG Barcode. BG Barcode allows manufacturers and brand owners to upload product data about their items, identified with barcodes. Once the information is uploaded (in compliance with GS1 Bulgaria’s requirements), it becomes part of a secure database, which could be shared with consumers, trade partners, retailers, online platforms, regulators and others. Consumers need to receive consistent product information in order to make informed choice when shopping (online and offline), like never before. And reading the label is easier now.
