Genomic Surveillance Unit (Wellcome Sanger Institute)

Genomic Surveillance Unit (Wellcome Sanger Institute) company information, Employees & Contact Information

We are a global hub improving human health through world leading genomic surveillance, developed in the UK at the Sanger Institute. We track diseases using scalable DNA sequencing technologies and analyse and interpret data from multiple sources. Our pioneering techniques show how diseases are transmitted and how they and their vectors are evolving. This gives early warning when vaccines, drugs and other interventions become less effective, or when new variants are emerging. It also helps us understand how diseases are spreading including as a result of changes to the climate and other environmental factors.
