Glasgow University Kendo Club

Kendo means the "way of the sword" and is a modern Japanese martial art of sword fighting. Originating from the centuries old Kenjutsu developed by the Samurai class, Kendo uses armor (Bogu) and bamboo swords (Shinai) to allow safe yet realistic fights. The Glasgow University Kendo Club is a society that welcomes anyone keen on training and competing in casual and tournament duels while improving themselves through character-building and discipline. We emphasize on establishing a sociable and enjoyable environment when striving to challenge our members mentally and physically.
