GUARD Robotics is a club at Griffith University Gold Coast, and represents Griffith in the VEX U robotics competition.
GUARD is a diverse student-lead team that develops students’ skills in business, design, media, management, and engineering in a fast paced collaborative environment. We proudly nurture enthusiasm for electrical, mechanical, and software engineering, which allows us to accelerate our exceptional students far beyond the classroom through our projects and programmes:
- Weekly robotics classes, available to all members
- The VEX U competition
Every year, we build at least four robots to compete at the VEX U competition. Our team members exercise their CAD, programming, and project management skills to design, build, and improve robots to compete against other universities in Australia and the US.
At the same time, our design, media, and business students work to make our programmes possible.
GUARD prioritises maintaining a fun and sustainable programme. Our weekly robotics classes are available for students to share skills and knowledge, forming a pathway for graduates from partnered local high schools to make friends, upskill, and join our VEX team.
