Guide Runners India is a registered Trust and Trademark and Dr. Bhumika Patel is the founder -Trustee. She works with a global corporate and is also an accomplished athlete, six-star world marathon majors finisher She was a guide runner to former world record holder, an ironman Eric Manser, at the Boston Marathon 2019.
The team enables knowledge sharing for Persons With Disabilities on fitness training and athletics and has vision to extend mentoring support to athletes to excel and win accolades at the national and international events. This effort is greatly dependent on volunteering by sighted runners/running communities across India as the ratio of athlete to guide is one is to one. We have online and on the ground training sessions at various locations in India.
This team has been active since 2016 and has set several Indian records in Marathon and Ultra marathons with visually impaired and their guides.
