Since the beginning there has been no well-defined career path for project controls disciplines in industry! Project Controls cannot be easily learned on the job, and few companies can offer training or mentoring. The variability created has been a handicap for both the people trying to perform the roles and companies who are trying to gain advantage out of deploying best practices. Working in conjunction with Planning Planet we have been able to conceive the first professional body representing the Project Controls discipline- The Guild of Project Controls- GPC Planning Planet is hosting us in our infancy whilst we launch the Guild in phases. The first phase will allow people to apply for membership without accreditation and the following phases will see the launch of the accreditation process.
