The Guma Foundation is a northern NJ local charity that supports children with brain tumors and their families. The Foundation was started in memory of Ralph M. Guma Sr. and Ralph M. Guma Jr. (Ralphy) in 1993. In memory of Ralph Sr., the Foundation awarded annual scholarships up to $2,000 per year to high school seniors.
In memory of Ralphy, in 2000 the Foundation shifted its focus to donating $10,000 per year to the Tomorrow's Children Fund at Hackensack Hospital (HUMC). The monies have been targeted to children suffering from brain tumors. Ralphy was a brain tumor survivor of 23 years.
In addition to the yearly donation, the foundation sponsors “Ralphy’s Room” in the pediatric oncology wing of HUMC - this provides families of children undergoing treatment with a place to spend time, relax, and recharge
