ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY Mission of the University Through its teaching and research, the GERAR University of Medical Sciences is expected to be a significant contributor in extending the various frontiers of knowledge for the benefit of not only its students but the society at large. The University would be a significant instrument for Health Science, Technology, Social and economic advancement in its sphere of influence. Philosophy The GERAR University of Medical Sciences shall be an environment conducive for freedom of thought, of expression and of all. To this end, its doors shall be open to all staff and students- respective of creed, gender or religion belief. The overall philosophy is to endeavor in seeking the truth and disseminating same for the good of humanity. Aims/Objectives The objectives of the University include the following: To realize its vision and mission, The GERAR University of Medical Sciences must work assiduously to achieve the objectives stipulated in its law. The University shall have the following objectives to: 1. Encourage the advancement of learning and to hold out to all person without distinction of race. Creed, sex, political or religion conviction the opportunity of higher and liberal education. 2. Provides courses of instruction and other facilities for the pursuit of learning in all its branches, and to make those facilities available on proper terms to such person as are equipped to benefit from them. 3. Equip students with appropriate knowledge and skills to meet the ever-changing needs of society.
