Gemeinschaft umweltfreundlicher Teppichboden e.V.

The Gemeinschaft umweltfreundlicher Teppichboden e.V. (GUT) was founded in December 1990 by leading carpet manufacturers in Europe. The aim of the association is to continuously improve and develop the environmental standards of carpeting. Consumers who purchase a carpet with the GUT label can be sure that it has been tested for environmental and health criteria. The criteria range from pollutant levels to the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and (sometimes unpleasant) new odours. The further development of the environmental standards of carpets is particularly evident in the new product information system of GUT: The so-called GUT-PRODIS label gives the consumer the possibility to quickly and transparently access all important product information about a carpet online.
