Guyana Development Initiative

The Guyana Development Initiative was launched in the summer of 2019 as an independent economic development initiative led by Harvard University Professor Michael Porter, head of the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School. The Guyana Development Initiative (GDI) has one overarching ambition: helping the people of Guyana to develop and implement an economic strategy that encourages the huge opportunities from the country’s newfound natural resource wealth to create lasting and widely shared improvements in the prosperity of its citizens.
