Glasgow Wilderness and Extreme Medicine Society

We are a studet led society based at the University of Glagow that aims to provide training and insight into pre-hospital, wilderness and extreme medicine. We provide weekly training sessions, and opportunities for weekend trips away for training, conferences and events hosted by fellow societies at other intitutions. Our members learn how to identify and manage pathology from extreme and austere environments like altitude & dive medicine, blistering heat & freezing cold, to the trials and tribulations of tropical disease and trauma care, to how to deliver a baby and major incident management. Our weekly sessions focus on teaching from senior students with input from area specialists, careers talks on expedition and wilderness medicine
