HOPES (Help of Patients in Exigency by Students)

HOPES is a non-political welfare organization run by the students of Karachi Medical and Dental College (KMDC), which aims to alleviate human suffering. HOPES is currently running a free drug bank for admitted patients, a 24 hours free casualty drug bank, 24 hours no profit no loss pharmacies at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases and a Dental Pharmacy at Dental OPD in KMDC also on no profit basis, 24 hours Diagnostic Laboratory providing discounted rates compared to running market prices, and free of cost diagnostic and radiological tests to the non-affording patients. Other than this we are also helping poor patients in arrangement of blood and blood products. HOPES also works in natural disasters and worked in the earthquake and is now working for victims of flood and our area of operation is district Dadu. We are making this possible with continuous kind support of the kind and generous people of our country and the Overseas Pakistanis living in other countries. Every year in the month RAMADAN, H.O.P.E.S runs a zakaat campaign in which our volunteers visit door to door and at different public places, malls and Hospitals to collect funds. We also organize a fun festival every year to provide a healthy entertainment to the common public and simultaneously collect funds for our cause.
