Even with infrastructure and provisioning costs heading to zero, state-of-the-art developer environments are still unaffordable or unavailable to students and to aspiring innovators in many parts of the world. Yet we cannot afford to ignore their talent and ambition. To realize a global developer community with equal opportunity, we must offer access to hardware, development environments, online services, expert coaching and educational programs free of charge.
