Hado is the first eSport, combining physical exercise and augmented reality. This sport was born in Japan in 2014, founded by Hiroshi Fukuda.
Unlike VR-based eSports, Hado players are not limited and restricted in their actions by cables or other messy controllers needed to move through virtual environments.
Where Virtual Reality takes you into the digital world, Augmented Reality introduces digital elements into the real world. A game of Hado takes place on a real sports field, where 2 teams compete.
It’s a sport that requires a good physical condition and can be played by people of all ages. Hado can under certain conditions be played as a parasport, making it accessible to people with disabilities.
A Hado team is usually composed by 3 players who must work as a group to increase their chances of winning a round. Hado is played with a wireless head mounted display and wrist motion sensors, using only gestures to unleash super powered projectiles on the opponents.
The goal of the game is to hit the other team players while avoiding their shots.
