HUMC(Hallym University Medical Center)

Hallym University Medical Center (HUMC), one of the largest medical institutions in Korea, consists of five general hospitals: Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital; Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital; Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital; Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital; and Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital. HUMC operates approximately 3,100 patient-beds at its hospitals and 5,689 employees including 638 medical professors have been dedicating themselves to pursuing the highest quality medical care under the founding principles, ‘To Become a Cornerstone for Public Health Care, To Practice Medical Services of Love and Equality, and To Pursue the Happiness of All Mankind.’ To meet the growing needs of customers in the rapidly changing medical environment, Hallym presented a slogan ‘Mighty Hallym’ for a change and innovation in 2002. Since then it has been striving to make its hospitals specialized medical institutions which would provide a more customized service for patients. Hallym’s affiliated hospitals are creating a great synergy through an integrated medical information system, while some of specialized centers enjoy a global reputation including Cardiovascular Center, Respiratory Disease Center, Neuroscience Center, Digestive Disease Center, Robotic Surgery Center, Musculoskeletal Center, Arthroplasty Center, Center for Endocrine Disease, Diabetes and Thyroid Disorders, Breast and Endocrine Cancer Center, Burn Center. Since its opening in 1971, Hallym has endeavored to implement corporate social responsibility (CSR) by providing social welfare services through the management of the Shinlim Welfare Center, the Yongdungpo Senior Welfare Center, the Chuncheon Hallym Youth Welfare Center, the Hallym Burn Foundation and the Gangdong Dementia Center.
