Team Hammerhead ARC is a group of students from different faculties of GIKI who annually take part in Shell Eco Marathon Asia in Prototype Battery Electric category.
Shell Eco-marathon is a global competition in which university students design, build and drive the most energy-efficient car. With three annual events in Asia, Americas and Europe, student teams take to the track to see who goes furthest on the least amount of fuel.
Our Aim is to design, manufacture and build super mileage, ultra-light weight, fuel efficient and eco-friendly vehicles. And to encourage students to find potential solutions for current and future energy crisis faced by the automobile sector, using their engineering brains and innovative ideas.
Team Hammerhead Arc has strived hard to overcome the limitations the previous versions of GIKI’s SEM cars have faced, in terms of body weight, internal friction and aerodynamics. There are strong proofs that these parameters when optimized have led to major improvements in the car. In short we have worked to improve the mechanical design of our car, and together with the correct choice of the engine, have made a significant improvement in the mileage of the car.
Success comes with hard work, commitment and most importantly, an aim. Our aspirations are indeed high and this can only come when a team works with the belief that it can achieve its aims and, more importantly, believes in its own self. With the talent and expertise of our team members, we intend to make a remarkable achievement this year at the Shell Eco Marathon.
