Hands Up Mallee is a community-led collective impact initiative in the Mildura LGA, Australia.
Hands Up Mallee works in partnership with the community, local service providers, agencies, businesses, philanthropy and government.
Our collective takes a place-based approach:
To HUM, this means centring the voice, needs and aspirations of our community and actively involving local people to design solutions to local issues. Hands Up Mallee creates change by bringing community members together to work alongside HUM and the broader HUM collective of partners from the community, services, businesses, philanthropy and government, creating change for our community through action.
Action is developed using a combination of:
Community voice: Local, lived understandings of what children and families in our community need to thrive and their lived experiences.
Local data: Information from sources that helps us understand what is happening in our community. Our community’s strengths and the challenges we are facing.
Current research: Up-to-date research gives us an idea of the best actions to achieve change in our community.
