Handspun Hope is a non-profit ministry dedicated to empowering more than 200 at-risk women in northern Rwanda. Our social business model addresses the generational cycle of poverty by uniting work-based solutions with holistic care programs. In addition to fair, salaried wages, all women working for Handspun Hope have access to regular onsite mental health counseling, family healthcare, financial literacy training, social work advocacy, spiritual mentorship, and more.
We are committed to writing new stories of hope for trauma survivors and their families by cultivating sustainability within our organization, community, and environment. Together, using ethical and sustainable fiber sourcing practices, the women working for Handspun Hope handcraft a beautiful line of organic, naturally dyed products like knitwear, yarn, and felted sculptures.
In addition to Handspun Hope, we operate Hope Artisan Collective, an online boutique of curated handmade goods from across Africa.
