Hano Academy

Hano Academy is an academic progression and polytechnic academy in Somalia offering multidisciplinary programmes, courses and opportunities, including: 1. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses and training. These include languages, personal development and capacity-building courses and training for civil servants, teachers, academics, university graduates and formally educated individuals, working professionals and traditional and non-traditional students. 2. Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET). These courses and training are tailor-made and are offered to both students at the Academy and staff trainees from enterprise-based companies (‘Dual System’). 3. Job Creation, Entrepreneurship and Employment Opportunities - This is provided through Hano Social Innovation Hub (HSIH), which is the first innovation hub and business incubator and accelerator in Somalia; BaadiGoob Online for access to self-employment; Khibrad Recruitment Agency for access to recruitment; and Tijaaro Microfinance for access to finance. Employment opportunities can also be obtained through our other social enterprises. 4. Hano Cultural Heritage Hub, which safeguards Somali literature and cultural heritage. 5. Hano Research and Consultancy Firm, conducting both academic and industry-based research for companies, organisations, institutions and individuals. 6. Distance online learning solutions through eLearningX for leveraging the digital transformation. 7. STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education and skills training to capitalise on opportunities in STEM through the Somali STEM Society.
