Harbor Fund seeks out the highest-quality feature film and television productions that promote the public good. Once identified, Harbor raises grants from prospective donors who are aligned with the philanthropic mission of these projects. Harbor invests into the equity or debt financing of the films, with any proceeds returned to a self-sustaining, evergreen fund. This capital is then reinvested in new social impact films in perpetuity.
Harbor allows filmmakers and creators to connect with a source of capital that has historically been unavailable for these types of (non-documentary) projects. Foundations, family offices, corporations, donor-advised funds, and government agencies are able to purposefully invest in select social causes via film projects that have significant reach and high potential for impact.
Our goal is to encourage filmmakers, actors, writers, producers, studios, distributors, and other industry professionals to participate in productions with charitable purposes. We hope to increase the number, quality, scope, scale, and effectiveness of these impact films in creating societal change for good.
