Harper Macaw

Harper Macaw is a fine chocolate manufacturer located in Washington, DC. Our mission is to develop a fine chocolate manufacturing value chain that enables rainforest restoration at our cacao sources in the tropics. We source directly from select fine flavor cacao producers that employ ecologically, socially, and economically sound agroforestry practices. These producers are primarily located in Brazil’s Atlantic and Amazon rainforests, two of the world’s most threatened biomes. We manufacture chocolate from raw cocoa beans at our factory in Washington, DC. We then reinvest a portion of each sale in rainforest restoration and protection near our sources to ensure the survival of our cacao and its surrounding environment. We do this by working with non-profit partners to acquire deforested land plots and integrate them into to nature reserves in Brazil’s cocoa producing regions. Our name, Harper Macaw, represents the Harpy Eagle and Blue Hyacinth Macaw, two symbolic endangered species of Brazil’s Atlantic and Amazon rainforests.
