About Harrow Communications Inc.
Hi, I’m Susan, media coach, marketing strategist + martial artist—instead of 15 minutes of fame, a lifetime of legacy™. There are few things in life as upsetting as realizing we’ve miffed our “big break.” It’s easy to do if we aren’t prepared for that spotlight. As a media trainer who helps thought leaders, entrepreneurs + authors get ready for the biggest interviews of their lives, I'll share the most common publicity myths that have derailed some big careers. • I can just wing it + it will come out fine—after all, I’m good on stage, in presentations or in front of crowds • It doesn’t matter if I publicly do or say ONE thing that might ruin my reputation, business or brand permanently—I can always make a comeback • My shyness, anxiety, introversion, or imposter syndrome means I’ll never be great in the public eye • I have to quash my quirks or weirdness to shine as a real star • I need to be loud, assertive or extroverted to be a true media success • I'm fine the way I am but I get tweaked by things that unexpectedly set me off For 35 years I’ve helped thousands of CEOs, entrepreneurs + authors monetize their messaging during media interviews—not just their “fifteen minutes of fame,” but the kind of legacy that lasts a lifetime. The fundamental fallacy made by many aspiring leaders when it comes to PR is that they believe that a publicity appearance will magically lead to a truck dumping millions of dollars on their doorstep. Be it an appearance on Oprah, an invitation to star on the main stage of TED, an interview in Inc., or the chance to guest on a popular podcast, the prevailing perception tends to be that all we have to do is land the talk, the show or the interview. The truth is that good PR is only the beginning of the journey. If we want to inspire real excitement + generate big impact, we need good MEDIA TRAINING. It’s not just WHERE you get to say something. It’s very much WHAT you say, HOW you say it + WHO you say it to.
