Haynes Industries

Established in 1978 by the Haynes and Duffy families, H&D Timber & Hardware became the benchmark for timber, landscaping and trade supplies in the Raymond Terrace and Port Stephens region for many years. Now solely owned and operated by Darrel & Diana Haynes and managed by their son James and his wife Renee, the business continues to thrive after 50 years. The core business recently was recently re-named H&D Building Supplies to reflect the focus on suppliers local builders, concreters, landscapers, plumbers and plasterers. Haynes Industries also owns a specialty bolts, screws and fasteners brand called Select Fasteners (trading from a separate premises also in Heatherbrae) and a commercial paint supply business (Paint Place Heatherbrae) which operates from inside H&D Building Supplies. Since the very beginning, the business has also operated a fully working timber mill supplying a range of custom-made products to local and regional businesses. In recent years the mill was being asked for hardwood pegs, survey pegs and timber stakes and this led to the establishment of a dedicated business called The Pegman that has become one of the largest suppliers of survey pegs in NSW.
