We are a research institute headquartered in Pune, India, with a social innovation approach to public health and nutrition, and an aim to reduce health inequities. Our work is executed through a life-course perspective, and we study and provide expertise on population health & well-being with our core competencies being childhood growth, maternal and child health, adolescent health, health of the elderly, bone and muscle health, nutrition, and paediatric endocrinology and childhood diabetes. Our multidisciplinary team comprises skilled paediatricians, research scientists, physicians, paediatric endocrinologists, research nutritionists, dieticians, diabetes educators, social workers, psychologists, technicians (laboratory and medical), community health workers, data managers and data entry operators. With several ongoing community and hospital based social and research projects, HCJMRI is also involved in teaching for PhD students (affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University), Paediatric Endocrine Fellows, and national and international interns/volunteers.
