HE-FARM

HE-FARM is a Horizon Europe project aimed at improving biosecurity in Europe’s farm-to-fork chain by targeting the nine critical “transmission channels” that allow pathogens to enter agricultural facilities. By tracing and testing these channels in both laboratory and real-world settings, the project develops predictive methodologies and disruptive technologies—such as an air-borne virus smart detector for rapid pathogen detection, eco-friendly insect barriers, and rapid vehicle decontamination systems. Alongside these innovations, HE-FARM is creating a software tool, proposing new standards, and inviting external innovators to help shape a safer, healthier food supply for all.
