Headway Surrey

Operating from custom a built centre in North Road, Guildford, our specialist team provide a comprehensive range of services to support adults in Surrey with acquired or traumatic brain injury. Services are online and also face to face. Cognitive and social rehabilitation, including executive skills, memory, decision making, planning, prioritising, appropriate behaviour, counselling, family support and more, to enable all involved to live well with the brain injury and to be independent and reach their potential. Brain injury causes a ripple effect, so Headway Surrey supports families and carers cope with the traumatic and life altering changes that they face. Headway Surrey raises awareness and provides education and training around the issues of acquired and traumatic brain injury and its services to the public at large, GPs, hospitals, social workers, Surrey County Council, health and social professionals, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Counsellors, local employers, Police, Ambulance, Prisons and other organisations. The people we help may have their brain injury from a stroke, road traffic accident, sporting injury, cycling, riding, work injury, trip, fall, assault, tumour, aneurysm, meningitis, Covid-19, encephalitis and other medical reasons. Some will be with us long term, and others may be able to volunteer and even return to paid employment. Whatever the issue, if it relates to their brain injury we will support them or signpost them to relevant services. As a registered charity we rely on donations and sponsorship.
