Healing Beyond Bars delivers trauma-informed training and group programmes for both prison staff and prisoners. Our mission is to transform prison culture from reactive to relational — creating safer environments where real rehabilitation can take root.
We equip staff with the tools to recognise trauma responses, de-escalate without force, and build trust without losing authority. We support prisoners to understand their own behaviour, regulate overwhelming emotions, and begin healing the wounds beneath their actions.
At the heart of our work is the RAFT model — a practical, relational approach to trauma-informed care.
