About Becoming Well
Beneath the veneer of manliness and masculinity, men are suffering in silence. The invisible wounds they carry from surviving trauma and abuse has left them feeling pain, fear, and shame. Wounds that include physical or sexual abuse, emotional trauma, bullying, rejection, the loss of a loved one, divorce and medical crisis. Men have two choice, conquer their trauma by facing it and doing the work needed to get better or avoid it and remain shackled to their past. My Becoming Well is based around the book, "The Unbound Man, Breaking Shackles of Trauma & Abuse Experienced by Men," written by Matt Burton who shares his story and the stories of others, offering practical advice on how to break free from their invisible wounds while equipping their loved ones so they can better understand the impact of male trauma. Because when men deal with their trauma, everybody wins. Matt Burton is a former star athlete, on-air personality, CEO and founder/social entrepreneur, and more importantly, he’s a survivor of countless forms of trauma including abuse, loss, disappointment and failure. He has helped thousands of men experience healing from trauma, loss, addiction, and pain. Matt has a wife and three children and lives in Seattle.
