Hi I’m Mayra Luz Colón, also known as the Nutrition Dork. As a Latina Woman, seeking for healthy alternatives to my favorite foods, I couldn’t find much out there that would fit my needs. For years I’ve been re-creating my favorite Puerto Rican foods in a healthy way, and now I can’t wait to share with you. After friends and family started asking me for my tips and recommendations, I founded my blog nutritiondork.com. I wanted to have a place where I could share my health and wellness journey, resources, and recipes. A year later, I decided to write a cookbook to share not only my recipes, but tips on how to choose healthy ingredients, how to food combine for a healthy digestion, and more. During this journey, I also realized that there weren’t many options for our staple seasonings that didn’t contain artificial ingredients, added colors, msg and gmo’s. Even though I had shared my ADOBO and SAZON recipes on my blog, I knew that not everyone had access to high-quality ingredients, as well as the time to blend their own seasonings. That is when I decided to found Nutrition Dork LLC and create HEALTY RICAN. A Latin Spice Brand that would provide not just a cookbook and recipes, but also healthy seasonings that will enhance the flavor of your food, without adding any artificial ingredients. My mission is to help you put the Latin spice in your healthy life! And put an end to bland traditional healthy foods. Anyone can enjoy my products. Whether or not you are Latin and/or Puerto Rican. I’ve created HEALTHY RICAN for everyone that enjoys living a healthy life and/or ready to make a change. If you already know how to cook Puerto Rican foods great! With my cookbook you’ll learn how to make them in a healthy way. If you don’t know how to make Puerto Rican foods, you’ll learn how to make everything step by step, and how to incorporate the seasonings and Latin flavor in your already healthy life!
