HeartScapes is a space that operates at the intersection of Self-Reflection, Spiritual Practice, & Social Action. In other words, we are for folks interested in navigating the pathways between our internal experiences and external lives, learning to live, lead and love increasing from the inside out, and from the wholeness of our True Self.
For 11 years, I helped develop the social justice capacities and commitments of undergraduate students, and while I was passionate about this work, I was also dismayed at the over-emphasis on the EXTERNAL, DOING aspects of this work, with almost no space to support my students in their BEING—to address past traumas, to develop emotional depth and resilience, and to understand who WE are in relationship to the issues we care about.
And so I built HeartScapes at the intersection of SELF-REFLECTION, SPIRITUAL PRACTICE, and SOCIAL ACTION.
We help people who are committed to their PRECIOUS CONTRIBUTION to the world. Folks who know or sense that in order to live our contribution, we need to build a nurturing spiritual practice, and the capacity to work with the shadowy, mucky aspects of ourselves; and to do so in a COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE that makes room for difficult questions and the fullness of ourselves.
We do this through the SYSTEM OF REIKI, taught from the perspectives of its Japanese origins, and through a trauma-informed lens. This is simply because we experience it as an incredibly ACCESSIBLE, ELEGANT, and DEEPLY EFFECTIVE pathway to remembering the WHOLENESS OF OUR TRUE SELF, and bringing that Self into our contribution to the world, at any scale.
Each of us has a contribution to make. By virtue of being alive on the planet, YOU have a precious and necessary contribution. And every step you take towards remembering the wholeness of your TRUE SELF strengthens this contribution. Let’s take that journey. And let’s be DEEPLY PROVISIONED for it.
