About Hospitality, Events, Aviation and Tourism at the University of Sunderland
Hospitality, Events, Aviation, and Tourism (HEAT) The HEAT-based research group currently delivers academic and applied research in three areas of specialism: (i) tourism, (ii) hospitality, and (iii) events. A fourth area – aviation – was recently added (in 2019) and research activities in this area are a priority for development in the next five years. The Centre for Research in Tourism Excellence (CERTE) was established in 2017 following consideration of the outcome of REF2014, to provide a clear focus for research in the School.
