Heavy Engineering Ltd is an engineering company located in Nairobi, Kenya.
The company was founded in 1979 and has worked mainly on energy sector projects in the East African region.
We carry out project-specific work for our customers such as the fabrication and/or machining of heavy steel components as well as complete mechanical and electrical installations of plant equipment on the project site, with the exact scope and specifications of goods or services required varying from project to project. We currently operate in the following markets:
a. Manufacture and installation of heavy steel components and structural steelwork for power generation plants, cement production plants, and steel production plants.
b. Manufacture and installation of Electric Overhead Travelling (EOT) Cranes and Gantry Cranes.
c. Machining of large dimension steel components.
d. Non-destructive testing (NDT) services (radiography, ultrasonic) for welding.
e. Heat Treatment of steel components.
Working on several power generation projects since the 1980’s has enabled us to increase our knowledge and capabilities as a manufacturing and installation company of high quality heavy steel components and structures for various projects in the energy sector.
We have invested in increasing capacity by adding to our existing resources, and can now manufacture various hydropower turbine and generator components, hydro-mechanical equipment and penstocks.
We are also able to carry out complete installation works of the plant equipment, including turbines, generators, hydro-mechanical equipment and penstocks, and both mechanical and electrical plant equipment.
We have also manufactured and installed heavy steel components, structures, and piping work for geothermal and thermal power plant projects in Kenya, and are also capable of carrying out such works in mining, oil & gas, and wind power projects.
