Held+Team

Held+Team is a design agency based in Hamburg, Germany. With the company formation in 1997, the idea starts to be specialized in medical and laboratory technology. The goal is a long-term, trustworthy and target-oriented collaboration with the customers and their partners (e.g. Olympus, B. Braun, Trumpf, Mettler Toldeo, Maquet, Bowa, Heine, Eppendorf). So far, Held+Team managed to convert almost all customer relationships they have started into long-term partnerships - with many of them already 10 or more years. The design office works with more than 50 different companies from Asia, Europe and the USA. The developing of the design is always tied to high formal standards. Results included milestones such as the resectoscope OES 4000 (1997), the first LED OR lights (2005), the smallest blood glucose meter of the world (built into a wrist watch, 2000) or the first OR controls with a tablet computer (2014). Our exceptional know-how is underscored by more than 150 international design awards (e.g. iF Design Award, Red Dot Design Award or Good Design Award) for medical design technology products. The services include several design processes in the field of medical and laboratory technology: industrial design, interface design and packaging design. From concept studies through UI developments to prototypes and user tests. Furthermore Held+Team has developed a unique way of defining a general visual standard for products - even for very extensive and complex product ranges. This method involves much more than just choosing colors and logo positions as in traditional corporate design guidelines. We go deeper - looking at the functionality of the products to define and design more than the surface of the product and its packaging. The result is strong and unmistakable brand recognition - a unique Corporate Product Design. We have extensive experience using this approach at more than 10 companies.
