We are happy to introduce Help Buddy to your organization. Help Buddy is an innovative initiative using QR code technology to improve emergency response in Nigeria. Research shows that 9 out of every 10 Nigerians lack basic emergency response and first aid skills. This innovation is designed to address this problem by providing emergency response skills and details of the nearest hospital and ambulance service during an emergency. With the increase in accidents, sudden collapse and death within our communities, this innovation has become very necessary to quickly upskill at least 30% to 50% of the population on simple emergency response skills and first aid intervention.
The physical limitation of training people through a conventional brick-and-mortar approach in classrooms and other organized sessions can no longer be ignored, and does not do justice to the urgency of this situation. However, the use of technology can bridge this gap by providing the public with access to real-time information during emergencies instead of the current unhelpful practice of recording videos of victims in distress and sharing them on social media.
