In light of the current global pandemic, one to one teaching has become a sought after commodity amongst university students. Many students, including ourselves, have been left feeling very distanced from the university and lecturers. We aim to provide FREE tutoring services to help any Stage 2 and 3, Civil and Structural Engineering students studying at Newcastle University who are feeling overwhelmed and anxious about the year ahead. Our service provides further explanation of taught content from lectures, guidance with how to approach and complete coursework modules and exam preparation. We think that it would be beneficial to stage 2 and 3 students to communicate with those who have already completed these years, sharing their experiences and knowledge.
Who are we?
We are a collection of Engineering Master's students studying at Newcastle University. Each of us specialising in a range of Engineering Master's, including Structural, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering. We know that stage 2 and 3 are daunting years with a steep increase in workload and personally, we would have appreciated a service similar to this when we were going through these stages. We want to normalise the idea that collaboration and support for fellow students is the best way of learning, with the hope that collectively we will be able improve and innovate the industry that we love.
How can I use this service?
At the moment we are only available to stage 2 and 3 Civil and Structural Engineering students studying at Newcastle University. If you fit this criteria send us an email at HelpWithEngineering@gmail.com describing which modules you need help with and whether you are doing Civil or Structural Engineering. We'll get back to you as soon as we can, assigning you a tutor who specialises in the modules that you need help with. From then on you'll be in correspondence with your allocated student tutor planning Zoom tutorials and sending any short queries to them directly.
