HelpGuide was founded in 1999 by Robert and Jeanne Segal following the death by suicide of their daughter Morgan. Since that time, it has grown from a small Santa Monica-based project to an internationally renowned 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that reaches millions of people every month.
