At Helping Herbs, we empower women in refugee communities through hands-on training in herbal medicine and sustainable product-making. We run a project in the Palabek refugee settlement in Uganda in collaboration with UNHCR Uganda, where women learn to create herbal remedies for personal health and as a source of income. We also completed a 12-month project across three refugee camps in Kurdistan, Iraq, with similar goals. Central to our work is training women refugee leaders to deliver workshops within their own communities, ensuring knowledge is shared, skills are passed on, and local resilience is strengthened.
