The pandemic has underlined just how precarious music careers are, even for those well established. In the struggle to survive, women have fewer opportunities to develop revenue streams to sustain a viable career than men. From songwriting and production, to the live arena, streaming and radio play, women are underrepresented throughout the industry.
Hen Hoose is a response to this situation.
Launched in Glasgow, this is a collaborative female and non-binary songwriting project funded by Creative Scotland. It unites a rich and diverse array of wonderfully talented and award-winning female Scottish artists, writers and producers with the goal of collaborating remotely on the creation of exciting new music across multiple genres.
