HERFuture is a leadership incubator in The Gambia that nurtures and train a new generation of girls (age 15-19) from underprivileged backgrounds through:
1. Well-structured mentoring program. We annually recruit girls from various high schools in The Gambia and enroll them in an intensive direct mentoring program. Our innovative mentoring program relies on a network of a wide range of devoted and well-experienced mentors to guide and support our girls in their academic prospects, career development and among others.
2. Leadership and capacity building training. We will organize quarterly residential seminars/ boot-camps that expose our girls to transformative and practical leadership guidance. We want to prepare our girls with the correct mindset to lead and be good societal role models by providing an avenue for them to network with inspirational leaders in various sectors of leadership positions in the country.
3. Design thinking and service learning. We want to groom our girls to be vigilant and good problem solvers with an entrepreneurship mindset: by helping them identify pressing societal issues in their various communities and effectively guide them to come up with a tangible solution to address these problems and also guide them to explore entrepreneurship opportunities available.
