Her Story Nigeria is a women’s rights organization based in South-West Nigeria, using storytelling, advocacy, and community engagement to challenge gender inequality and amplify women's voices. We envision a society free from gender stereotypes where everyone, regardless of gender, has the freedom and opportunity to thrive.
Our work centers on human rights education, creative expression, and community-driven dialogue. Through initiatives like monthly human rights conversations, book and movie clubs, a speaking club, and our podcast and newsletter, we engage our community of over 2,000 individuals in meaningful conversations on gender justice. Our community dialogues bring these issues offline, sparking real-world impact across Nigerian communities.
Her Story Nigeria addresses gender inequality and youth marginalization by empowering young people, especially women, to become advocates for social change. We tackle issues like gender-based violence, limited access to education, and exclusion from decision-making. Our approach blends storytelling, grassroots education, creative advocacy (e.g., comics, digital campaigns), and leadership development. We host community dialogues, virtual clubs (books, movies, writing, public speaking), and lead projects like Pad 100 Girls, climate adaptation workshops, entrepreneurship programs, and GBV walks. By amplifying underrepresented voices, we build a more inclusive and equitable society.
