Health Economics Study Alliance

Health Economics Study Alliance (HESA) is a multidimensional organization founded by the students of Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka. The vision of the club is to promote this relatively new and niche field of economics in Bangladesh and bring it into the mainstream conversation among economists and public health enthusiasts. Furthermore, the club acts as a knowledge-sharing platform for the students of the institute, and through our activities and programs, students get the opportunity to learn research techniques, journal practices, data analysis, and programming. Members of the Alliance are provided with the opportunity to debate policies, participate in interactive learning, and discuss public health-related topics. With their acquired knowledge, they will be able to play a crucial role in policy development, the public health sphere and health promotion in society. The role of health economists in public health policymaking has long been an interest to health experts. HESA hopes to prepare the next generation of policymakers and researchers by improving their cognitive and decision making skills, which will enable them to understand, analyze and pursue optimal health promotion policies, in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. We at HESA believe that by joining forces with our alumni, faculties, health economics experts, and current students, this Alliance will equip the students with vital skills and play an instrumental role in shaping their professional careers.
