HESTIA is dedicated to improving the environmental outcomes of agriculture while ensuring nutritious food for all. Recognising the urgent need for accessible, comparable data, HESTIA has developed a standardised data format to harmonise agri-environmental data sharing across research and supply chains. Our platform offers extensive, freely accessible data on food production practices and their environmental impacts, along with open-source models to estimate emissions, resource use, and fill data gaps. Our models adhere to globally recognised standards, including IPCC and EEA guidelines, ensuring transparency and reproducibility. We also test the effects of our data and models with farmers worldwide. Through global farm trials, where we enable farmers to monitor, compare, and reduce their environmental impacts, we are able to test how our tools supports practical, scalable solutions and demonstrates how data-driven approaches can influence on-the-ground decisions. We work in long-term partnerships with leading organisations, driven by the vision to address the unprecedented sustainability challenges posed by the current food system and climate change.
