HFD Charitable Foundation

HFD has a rich history of supporting charitable causes in Glasgow and Lanarkshire, supporting over 60 charities, and awarding a combined total of circa £2.5m to help those in need for over 20 years. In 2019, HFD’s Board decided to centralise all our charitable activities under the umbrella of the HFD Charitable Foundation — the new philanthropic branch of HFD. This decision was motivated by our commitment to significantly increase our charitable contributions and actively engage our colleagues and partners in our mission. We have worked with numerous local charities and have provided much-needed assistance during critical periods like the COVID-19 pandemic, the Polish/Ukraine appeal and the Turkey/Syria Earthquake appeal. Since being officially established, we have partnered with the Virgin Money Foundation since 2020 to deliver our Glasgow Community Anchors’ Fund — aiming to fund the vital anchors of Glasgow’s community to reduce poverty across the city. To date, our joint grant fund has totalled over £1m and is still going strong and substantially increasing for future years.
