HIE Sapir, Sapir College's Hub of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, is a groundbreaking innovation program, which offers students, staff and local residents the knowledge, skills, and practical experience to develop their ideas into actual ventures. It has become the place for regional and national events, conferences, workshops, hackathons, and roundtables, fostering innovation in Israel's southern periphery. The Center produces innovative teaching methods based on connecting knowledge ➡️ to technology ➡️ to creating initiatives with social impact. Our flagship program is the Center’s Innovation Labs. The Labs focus on developing ideas into entrepreneurial ventures. Managed by Sapir's academic departments with industry related partners, the Labs provide students, staff, and local residents with customized learning, invaluable practical experience, and entrepreneurial skills for both business and social ventures. Cross-departmental instruction with expert mentors offer participants tools and training for: teamwork, creative thinking, opportunities to experiment, and to learn from failure. Students acquire the capacity for life-long learning, interdisciplinary approaches, research, and analysis. Trained and supervised by professionals in the field, students operate four specialist clinics that provide the Innovation Labs teams with software, business, marketing, and legal services.
