High Institute for Research & Education in Transfusion Medicine

High Institute for Education and Research in Transfusion Medicine (IRETM), as an academic institution has the national and international role to acquire the competencies needed in transfusion medicine to provide services to national and regional state. IRETM which is founded in 2008 is a unique institute in field of Blood Transfusion in IRAN. IRETM offers domestic and international students in postgraduate levels of study in Hematology and Transfusion science also Medical Biotechnology disciplines. The students are selected by competitive National Entrance Exam. IRETM has 7 scientific department including Immunohematology, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Pathology, Medical Biotechnology and Biochemistry. Also, 1 research center is working actively in field of transfusion. A scientific journal is published 4 issues per year. IRETM has been approved as the WHO collaborating Center for research and training on Blood Safety since 2007.
