Highstick is opgericht in 1986 als productiefirma voor diverse haarwerkspeciaalzaken. Deze haarwerkzaken hechten veel waarde aan hoge kwaliteit die dankzij de contacten in Indonesië verwezenlijkt konden worden.
De naam Highstick is een samenvoeging van high-tack en wet-stick, twee begrippen die in 1987 eigenschappen waren van een andere productlijn die wij verdeelden. Deze producten, zoals huidvriendelijke bevestigingen van haarwerken, waren destijds nog ongekend maar weerspiegelden reeds onze filosofie van hoogwaardige producten.
